Terms of Use

Welcome to Dialect, a mobile app for learning African and diasporic languages, published by Dialecte SAS (hereinafter "we", "our"). By accessing the app or subscribing, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms").

1. Description of Service

Dialect offers language learning through flashcards, quizzes, and audio for languages including Darija, Kabyle, Chaoui, Wolof, Bambara, and other dialects. Some features are reserved for Premium subscribers.

2. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

• Auto-renewal can be turned off at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• No partial refund is granted for any unused portion of the subscription period upon cancellation, except as required by law.
• Free trial offers (if any) automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled before expiry.
• Prices may change; you will be notified in advance in accordance with Apple's policies.

3. User Account

You must create an account (via email or Apple Sign-In) to use Dialect. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. We reserve the right to suspend any account used in an abusive manner.

4. Intellectual Property

All content in Dialect (text, audio, visuals, code) is the exclusive property of Dialecte SAS or its licensors. Any reproduction or redistribution without authorization is prohibited.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to extract, copy, or redistribute the audio or lexical content of the app;
• Circumvent the Premium protection mechanisms;
• Use the app for any illegal purposes or in violation of these Terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

Dialect is provided "as is". We do not guarantee absolute accuracy of translations or pronunciations. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect damages arising from use of the app.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. In the event of a material change, you will be notified within the app or by email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete My Account. Deletion terminates your subscription (without refund for the current period) and permanently erases all your data.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

In-app purchases are managed by Apple and subject to the Apple Standard EULA.
